120 Bahadur Box Office Collection: Farhan Akhtar’s War film did not work on Saturday, earned Rs 3.5 crore on the second day

120 Bahadur are trying to collect Rs. Earning around Rs 3.50 crore on Saturday. This is an increase of almost 75 percent compared to Friday, taking its total collection to Rs. Earning of Rs 5.60 crore in two days. This film made in the headlines of Farhan Akhtar is heading towards earning Rs. crores. 9.50-10 crore nett weekend in India.

Percentage increase is fine. It’s not great, but not bad either. Actually the problem is that it is coming very less on the first day. If it were, say, Rs. 5 crores on the first day, this level of growth would have happened for the film, but Rs. With a collection of Rs 2 crore on the first day, you really need it to more than double/triple on Saturday to keep an eye on the trend. However, with these collections, the film is going nowhere, especially with the costs involved, which are very high.

The film was always expected to face an uphill battle, as most films in this genre/region typically do. The ones that work are the ones that combine mass appeal, strong star power or a sense of patriotism with real-life relevance. The two standout hits in the genre are Border and Uri, the former had comprehensive treatment and tremendous star value, while the latter was based on more current events like the 2016 surgical strike, which added a curiosity factor.

120 Bahadur appears to be a well-made film, but it lacks both these factors. Its backdrop, the India-China war of 1962, does not have the same contemporary relevance or audience appeal as the India-Pakistan conflict. All these limitations did not make the film and its box office prospects any easier.

The box office collection of 120 Bahadur in India is as follows:

Day net
Preview Rupee. 0.10 crore.
Friday Rupee. 2.00 crores.
Saturday Rupee. 3.50 crores.
Total Rupee. 5.60 crores.
