As Christmas 2025 is getting closer, several Telugu movies are getting ready to release on the big screens during the festive season. With many stars eyeing the silver screen, here’s a list of movies you might want to keep an eye on.

1. Dacoit: A Love Story

Adivi Shesh and Mrunal Thakur are all set to share the screen for the first time in the action thriller Dacoit: A Love Story. Directed by renowned cinematographer Shenil Dev, the film tells the story of an angry criminal who wants to take revenge on his ex-girlfriend for cheating on him.
What went wrong between them and why they have differences forms the center of the story. Anurag Kashyap is expected to play the role of a police officer, joining the cast including Sunil, Prakash Raj, Atul Kulkarni and others.
While the film is currently scheduled for a Christmas release, there are rumors that it may be postponed. Interestingly, Shruti Haasan was initially cast as the co-lead, but later left the project.
2. Shambhala

Shambhala is a supernatural horror thriller which is set to release in theaters this Christmas. Set in the 1980s, the story begins when a meteorite crashes into the deeply superstitious village of Shambhala.
As strange and terrifying events begin to unfold, an atheist scientist is forced to confront ancient horrors that cannot be explained with the scientific knowledge of the time.
3. Champion

Champion is a period sports drama starring Roshan Meka, son of veteran actor Srikant Meka, in the lead role. Directed by Pradeep Advaitam, the story tells the story of Michael, a talented footballer from Secunderabad who dreams of making it big in London.
Despite his raw and natural talent on the field, an unexpected turn changed Michael’s journey, forcing him to question whether he would ever achieve his goal. The film also marks the Telugu debut of Malayalam actress Anaswara Rajan with Chandrakala in the lead role.
4. Funky

After the tremendous critical and commercial response to Laila, Vishwak Sen returns to the big screen with a romantic family comedy Funky. Directed by Anudeep KV of Jathi Ratnalu fame, the film promises to be a fun, light-hearted entertainer for the festive season.
The teaser revealed an entertaining story in which quirky characters are attempting to make a film called Funky. The producers have also poked fun at the current trend of film franchises, humorously clarifying that Funky will not have a sequel.
The film, co-starring Dragon actress Kayadu Lohar, is expected to release this Christmas, although the official release date is not confirmed yet.
