Melbourne’s Indian Film Festival (IFFM) 2025 turned into a star-staded festival as the best talents of Indian cinema were honored at the prestigious Awards Night. Applause, Bhavna and Garv filled the wind as a poignant drama of filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan Homebound Emerged as the biggest winner of the evening, both received the best film and the best director.

The Bollywood icon Aamir Khan was honored with reputed excellence at the cinema award, recognizing his unique heritage and contribution to Indian cinema. Talking about his victory, Aamir Khan said, “I have been attracted to tell stories from a very young age. Filmmaking is a collaborative art and this award and recognition is not possible without my writers, directors, co-stars and audiences who have given me the opportunity to tell stories and be a part of many stories.”

Now in its 16th edition, IFFM once again confirmed its position as the largest Indian film festival outside India, which brings filmmakers, stars and audiences together in a grand celebration of cinema. This festival continues till 24 August Homebound Service as the closing film.
