2025 has been a dull year for the Indian film industry so far, without a giant blockbuster, outside Chhaava and Saiyaara. The two Biggies of August, Colie and War 2 disappointed the box office, but they still reached the list of the 5 best Indian films of 2025 at the world box office. COOLE is parked in 3rd position while war 2 took 4th place. Sitaare Zameen is in 5th place, but Mahavatar Narsimha should replace him by the end of this week.

Colie and War 2 will remain the 3rd and 4th respectively until Kantara 2 will be released
COOLE and WAR 2 have enough steam to add about RS 45-55 raw to their count. The two films will continue to stay where they are, until the arrival of Kantara: Chapter 1. Kantara: Chapter 1 has a very good chance of emerging as the most profitable Indian film of 2025 at the world box office. But nothing can be said with certainty. We still do not know if the euphoria for the Kantara suite is as high as a series of a successful film of all time should be. The other films in the running to appear in the list of the 5 best are Thama, Dhurandhar and Raja Saab. There are rumors that Raja Saab will be released on January 2026, but there is no absolute bond.
2025 may not have an RS 1000 driver worldwide
It is likely that there will be no RS 1000 crore at the box office this year after 2 in 2023 (Pathaan, Jawan) and 1 in 2024 (Pushpa 2: the rule). The 2024 number can reach 2 if 3D costs are added to Kalki 2898 AD. If this is added, Mahavatar Narsimha, with 3D loads, is around Rs 280 raw crore.
