SS Rajamouli is ready to return to the big screens with his highly anticipated film, SSMB29, with Mahesh Babu in the main role. Interestingly, the visionary director once compared “the euphoria” to watch films in a theater by citing examples of Rajinikanth and Salman Khan.

In an old interview of 2022, SS Rajamouli compared the quality of the visualization of a cinema in theaters against the OTT platforms. He said: “For example, let’s say that we see a blow from Salman Khan or Rajinikanth where they go up in a boxing ring and tear their shirts.”

SSMB29 is presented to be an adventure of Jungle Globe-Trotting, with Mahesh Babu playing a robust explorer probably inspired by Indiana Jones and African folklore.
As part of Mahesh Babu’s 50th anniversary celebrations, the manufacturers shared that the official revelation will take place in November 2025. The team promised that it would be a “never seen before” disclosure.
Sharing the update, the team suggested that the title of the film could be “Globetrotter”. According to some information, the crew should start to shoot in South Africa from the second week of September 2025. Recently, they have fired scenes with Priyanka Chopra Jonas in a indoor studio in Hyderabad.
In addition, there are reports according to which the film will be entitled Gen 63, with the story revolving around a protagonist which descends from a venerated ancestry line, being the heir to the 63rd generation.
With Mahesh Babu and Priyanka playing co-chefs, the film also features Prithviraj Sukumaran and R Madhavan in key roles.
Initially, there were speculations according to which SSMB29 was published in two parts in two parts after the end of the shooting in 2026. However, the manufacturers would have reconsidered their decision and would now have planned to publish it in a single company, with a temporary release date in 2027.
