After the success of Mahavatar Narsimha, Telugu cinema is also preparing to present an animated film. Producer Naga Vamsi joins the director Chandoo Mondeti for the 3D animated film, Vayuputra.
However, what is the story behind the mythological epic, and what can we expect from the film, which should be released next year?
What is the story behind Vayuputra?
For those who do not know, Vayuputra is another name used to refer to Lord Hanuman of Hindu mythology. The divinity known for her camaraderie with Lord Rama in the Ramayana epic, and as Divine Vanara, would be the son of the Wind God, Vayu. Hence the name Vayuputra (son of Vayu).
Earlier, several films adapted the legend of Lord Hanuman, and now a large production company like Sithara Entertainments supports the ambitious project. At first glance, it seems that the film will explore the origins of the revered divinity and may guide us through the events of Ramayana in an adaptation of 3D animation.
Taking on the official handful of social media, the manufacturers wrote: “From the soul of our history, the pages of our Itihasas, comes the story of an immortal legend!” #Vayuputra ~ not just a film, but a sacred spectacle. A film Chandoo Mondeti produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi & Sai Soujanya.
The epic film will be available in 3D and 2D, hitting the big screens of Dusshera 2026. Apart from Telugu, the film will be available in several languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada.
Although the film has been officially announced, the manufacturers have not yet confirmed the list of actors in the full voice.
