With the passage of industrialist Sujay Kapoor, there is now a legal battle on his vast personal property, it is allegedly priced at around Rs 30,000 crore. On Wednesday, the case reached the Delhi High Court, where Priya Kapoor, Sujay’s wife, and her children found herself on the opposing sides from her first marriage with actress Karisma Kapoor.

Karishma’s children, Samaira and Kian, have allegedly challenged on 21 March, under which Suzay allegedly left her entire personal property to Priya. His petition claims that the will is forged and argues that Sujaya never mentioned such documents during his lifetime. Representing through her mother, Samaira has filed a petition using her power of attorney, while Kayan, being a minor, is also represented by Karishma as her guardian.
Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for the children, told the court that Priya initially denied the existence of any will, was revealed only during a family meeting on 30 July. He further stated that the alleged desire has been unregistered and Priya’s colleagues have been accused of pressing for seven weeks.
Priya Kapoor, who was represented by senior advocate Rajiv Nair, denied the claims and argued that she was the legally deprived wife and widow of Sunaji. In 2016, he finally highlighted the sharp history of Sunejay and Karishma’s divorce, raising questions on the basis of the challenge of the children. He also claimed that Karishma’s children had already inherited assets worth Rs 1,900 crore under the RK Family Trust, remarked, “I don’t know how enough it is.”
The bench, chaired by Justice Jyoti Singh, Priya directed to present a detailed list of movable and real estate by June 12, on the day he passed away after falling during a Polo match in England. The court issued notices and set the next hearing for 9 October.
