The legal battle on the wealth of late businessman Sujay Kapoor has intensified, his third wife Priya Sachdev made a strong remarks against Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, 10 September.
“I am his legal wife”: Priya Sachdev questioned Karisma Kapoor’s claim in Sunijay Kapoor’s assets of Rs 30,000 crore.
As reported by Hindustan Times, Priya’s lawyer Rajiv Nayar argued that Karishma, Sujay’s ex -wife, was absent from her life for more than 15 years. The lawyer said, “I am his legal wife. Claims of love and affection – where was all this when he fought a long -term divorce battle in the Supreme Court,” the lawyer said that Karishma could not be seen “anywhere” since her divorce in 2016.
The controversy has gained more complexity after those reports that Safira, Priya and Sunayjay’s daughter have demolished their surname ‘Chatwal’ and adopted ‘Kapoor’. Those who monitor the industry suggest that the change may be strategic, possibly to strengthen its position in terms of heritage.
Meanwhile, Suzay – Samai and Kian – along with Karishma’s children have also shifted to the Delhi High Court, challenging the validity of his late father’s alleged desire. In his petition, he alleged that Priya forged the document, neither the origin nor a copy was shared with him. He requested the court to provide them access to the said wish.
Connecting the family discord, Sujay’s sister Madhira Kapoor recently alleged that her mother was locked in a room by the board members of the Kapoor family, Sona Commentar, a company, and was designed to sign the papers without informing the details.
The case is under judicial inquiry, in which the Kapoor family with several claims and protests from various aspects of the family.
