According to a Gulte report, Kantara: Chapter 1 is a set of centuries before the events of the first episode. Taking place under the reign of the Kadamba dynasty in 300 CE, the story takes place in the mystical forests of Banavasi, where the Daiva traditions were born and the divine spirits would have awakened.
In the film, Rishab Shetty plays a Naga Sadhu, a mystical warrior intended to serve as a catalyst between mortal and divine powers. The combination of the elements of the supernatural forces, ancient rituals and tribal struggles offers more than a simple prequel but a story of origin for the tradition of Kantara.
While the original Kantara provided only an overview of the world of Panjurli Daiva, the second episode should offer a more detailed story, offering a unique cinematographic experience in its kind in Indian cinema.
Kantara: Chapter 1 Cast and Crew
With Rishab Shetty in mind, the film is directed by the actor himself. He is joined by Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah, who are confirmed to play co-leaders, actor Malayalam Jayaram also expected to play a key role.
The project is supported by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under the banner of Hombale Films. The musical tracks and the background scores are composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, and Arvind Kashyap managed the cinematography.
The film will strike the big screens in several languages, notably Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali and English.
