Sumathi Valavu is expected to be released on the OTT ZEE5 platform and will start to broadcast from September 26, 2025. The official update was shared by the OTT platform via their X handle (formerly Twitter).
Sharing the news, they wrote: “Welcome to Sumathi Valavu ….. The best horror comedy artist of the year, Sumathi Valavu, will go out on Zee5 Malayalam from September 26.”

Sumathi Valavu is located in a sadly suspected street of being haunted. According to local tradition, the place is the place where a Tamil woman named Sumathi met a tragic end, and now her mind would be the cause of supernatural activities in the region.
When a group of young people ventures into the street, they start to live disturbing and strange bodies. What are the mysteries surrounding the place and how will they overcome the challenges to form the node of history.
Interestingly, Sumathi Valavu is inspired by a real location in Mylamo, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, of the same name. According to urban legend, a woman named Sumathi, who was pregnant at the time, was murdered by her lover in the 1950s in the same place.
Since then, the inhabitants have claimed that the place was haunted by his mind and associated it with various supernatural occurrences.
In addition, some reports suggest that the location has been exploited by criminals that have created the facade of a supernatural entity to cover their illegal activities.

Sumathi Valavu presents Arjun Ashokan and Gokul Suresh in the main roles. The support cast includes Saiju Kurup, Balu Varghese, Sshivada, Malavika Manoj, Abhilash Pillai, Joohi Jayakumar, Sidharth Bharathan, Gopika Anil, Sminu Sijo and many others in pivot roles.
Directed by Vishnu Sasi Shankar, the film was written by Abhilash Pillai. The project was financed by Murali Kunnumpurath and Gokulam Gopalan, with music composed by Ranjin Raj.
The PV Shankar managed cinematography while Shafic Mohamed Ali was editor.
