Speaking with Chalchitra Talks, Anurag Kashyap explained how he had met Basil Joseph during a reward event for Malayala Manorama, where the filmmaker revealed that he felt overwhelmed after working in Bollywood.
The director of No Smoking added that Basil had spent two years of his life working on Shaktimaan. Kashyap said: “I met Basil Joseph recently because I went to the prices of Malayala Manorama. He made such a good game … I have never seen such a good protagonist of Hero Common Hero, antagonist, whatever the roles. There, he told me that he had lost two years of his life by trying to do shaktimaan.”
“He asked me,” God, how did you survive in this industry? ” He said exactly what I felt here. This man wasted two years here. Kashyap added.
For those who ignore, following the success of Minnal Murali in 2021, reports suggest that Basil Joseph has been roped for Helm Shaktimaan. Restarting the 1990s television series should have Ranveer Singh in the main role.
However, four years later, the film has not seen concrete updates, and now it seems that Joseph himself has moved away from the project.

Basil Joseph was last seen in a main role in Marana Mass, directed by Sivaprasad and co -produced by Tovino Thomas. The psychological black comedy was published during Vishtu 2025 and received positive criticism.

Currently, Basil is expected to make its debut at the Tamil cinema with Sivakarthikeyan and Ravi Mohan-Starrer Parasakthi. The filmmaker also announced his first adventure as a producer at the Malayalam cinema.
