Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, are facing police investigation regarding an alleged fraud of Rs 60 crore.

According to officials of the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police, Raj Kundra is accused of transferring about Rs 15 crore from the total amount to the account of Shilpa Shetty’s company. To understand her role in the case, Shilpa was called for questioning this week.
She was in the EOV office for more than four and a half hours, where she answered questions about her financial participation. During interrogation, Shilpa allegedly shared details about the bank statement and transactions related to her advertising company. The police have also collected important documents from him, which are now being investigated.
So far, statements of five people including Raj Kundra have been recorded. Raj’s own statement was first taken in September. Officials say they are still monitoring the flow of money to investigate the objective behind the alleged transfer.
In an update recently, the Mumbai Police confirmed: “Investigation is going on against actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra in the alleged fraud of Rs 60 crore.”
Meanwhile, the court turned down the request of the couple of travel abroad. Shilpa and Raj had sought permission from Thailand’s Fuket’s family to go on leave from 2 to 5 October, but the Bombay High Court denied their petition. Both also demanded a stay on the lookout notice issued by EOW against him, which has not been provided.
The investigation of the case is going on.
