Box Office: Rishabh Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 collects Rs 35 crore in second weekend in Hindi, taking its tally close to Rs 150 crore.

Kantara: Chapter 1 (Hindi) is trying to collect Rs. Earning of Rs 14-14.50 crore today on second Sunday. That’s about a 5-10 percent increase from yesterday, which is lower than normal, but it was up a whopping 105 percent on Saturday, which at times makes Sunday’s jump a bit slow. The second weekend grossed an impressive Rs. Earned Rs. 35 crores nett. The drop compared to last weekend is about 30 percent, which is an excellent catch. The running total after the second weekend was Rs. Has reached. 137 crore nett.

Rishabh Shetty’s film will earn more than Rs. 150 crores before the end of the second week. On its first day, this number seemed like it would be a somewhat optimistic lifespan. However, the film has fared much better since then, avoiding major declines on weekdays and seeing decent growth on weekends or holidays. Now it is expected to reach around Rs 2000. 200 crore nett or even more, although this would require good collections during the Diwali period and beyond. The way it’s stood so far, it’s not too optimistic to expect that to happen.

Expectations from the film were high among a section of the trade who were hoping that it would perform like a sequel to other South Indian films like Baahubali 2, KGF 2 and Pushpa 2. However, the trade buzz was not entirely unfounded, as after all, the first film defied all seriousness and grossed Rs. Net earning of Rs 1.25 crore on the first day. More than 80 crore net final. However, at the end of the day, it was just conversation. Keeping that aside, for a film, given that it is a period film based on South Indian regional folklore, at no face value, these numbers are excellent.

Kantara: Chapter 1 releases in theaters on Gandhi Jayanti 2025 alongside Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in Sunny Sanskari’s Tulsi Kumari. However, it remained unaffected by the clash and has maintained a good lead over its rival releases. Had there been a more favorable rival or a bigger release this weekend, Kantara: Chapter 1 might not have had such a smooth run at the box office.
