Pradeep Ranganathan is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Dude. A few days ago he was told that he was not ‘hero material’ and was asked whether he was copying Dhanush. While the young actor is constantly facing such derogatory comments from the media, Nagarjuna gave him confidence by assuring him of his worth and calling him ‘merupu teega’ (flash of lightning).
The Love Today actor recently went to the Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss Telugu 9 to promote his film Dude. Host Nagarjuna praised Pradeep and compared him to Rajinikanth and Dhanush, who changed cinema forever. He said, “A few decades ago, a Merupu Teega (flash of lightning) came into cinema and changed its fortunes. His name is Rajnikanth. A few decades later, came another Merupu Teega who was slim, who attracted the youth, came Dhanush. Now, a few decades later, I am looking at Pradeep.”
Overwhelmed by Nagarjuna’s words, Pradeep said, “Sir, these are really big words, and when it comes from you, it really means a lot to me.” The King actor praised Ranganathan’s Love Today and Dragon and mentioned that he liked them. Nagarjuna said, “I have seen both your films, and I really like them. They are very updated for today’s youth. It is difficult to tell a heart-touching story in a contemporary genre. Be it Love Today or Dragon, they are films that break language barriers.”
A week ago, Pradeep Ranganathan was questioned regarding his appearance. The reporter insisted that he didn’t look like hero material. The reporter said, “Don’t take it negatively, but you don’t look like hero material. The kind of fan following you have, is it hard work or luck?” Before the Tamil actor could answer this, Sarathkumar took the mic and replied, “You can’t say that AZ is hero material; everyone here is hero material. There is no specification for what a hero should look like. Anyone who does any work that benefits the society is a hero.
