Actress Sangeeta Bijlani has formally applied for a gun license following a burglary at her farmhouse near Pavana, citing growing concerns over security and the slow pace of police investigation.

Bijlani recently met Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill for an update on the theft case. He revealed that despite almost three and a half months having passed since the incident, no significant success has been achieved.
Reflecting on the incident, she said, “I have been living there for the last 20 years. Pavana has been my home, and it has been three and a half months since the horrific incident of theft at my farmhouse, but no success has been achieved so far.”
He said SP Gill assured him that the police would “get to the bottom of the matter and arrest the culprits.”
According to the complaint, in July, unknown intruders vandalized her property and broke household items like refrigerator, TV and furniture. They also painted obscene graffiti on the walls and looted money. 50,000 in cash and a television worth Rs. 7,000.
Describing the incident as extremely disturbing, Bijlani commented, “There was theft and burglary. It was scary. Luckily, I was not there. There were obscenities and graffiti written on the walls inside the house.”
He stressed that the theft has shocked not only him but the wider community of Pawana. “Pavana has many residents including senior citizens and families. Safety is important. Recently, due to these incidents, residents of the Pavana area are feeling unsafe.”
Explaining her decision to get a gun license, Bijlani said, “In the wake of this incident, I have sought a gun license from Pune Rural Police. As a woman, if I go home alone, I feel there is a need for some kind of protection. I never felt the need for a gun license, but this is the first time I feel unsafe. I need a gun, and this is the first time I feel unsafe and a little I am doing it.” Fear.”
He expressed hope that the authorities will take strict action and expedite the investigation, which will restore confidence among the residents of the area.
As the case develops, the local police and Bijlani’s team will push for a speedy resolution while the actress awaits the decision on her firearm application.
