Kantara Chapter 1 becomes the highest grossing film of all time in Karnataka

Kantara: Chapter 1 has emerged as the highest-grossing film of all time in Karnataka. Rishabh Shetty starrer this film made Rs. Earned Rs. It grossed around Rs 4.75 crore on its second Tuesday, a record for that day, bringing its total box office earnings to Rs. Exceeded. 174 crores. With this, it has overtaken Kantara: A Legend (2022) to take the title of all-time top grosser in the state.

The way the film is going, it will soon reach Rs.1 crore. A benchmark of Rs 200 crore will be set for the first time in the state. It can even reach Rs. 250 crore, depending on how well it collects during the Diwali period. There were expectations that the film would challenge or even take the record, but perhaps no one expected it to do the way it did, where it made the record in just thirteen days and would surpass the previous record by perhaps 40 percent.

The highest grossing films in Karnataka are as follows:

There is a lack of consistent and verified data for Kannada films compared to other film industries. It may be possible that there is a film that should be in the top ten but is missing, especially from the last decade, although the probability is low. Exact figures of KGF Chapter 1 are not available, but it is estimated to have grossed around Rs. 90-105 crores. The record holder before him was Rajakumara, who is said to have collected around Rs. 50-60 crores.

For Telugu films, some border areas of Karnataka have been included in APTS for box office reporting. Raichur is included in the Nizam and Bellary is ceded. In the above list, the numbers are for the state of Karnataka, not Karnataka, the region that is generally reported.
