The world of Mirzapur is coming alive once again – this time on the big screen. After three blockbuster seasons on OTT, Excel Entertainment’s crime thriller franchise is expanding into cinema Mirzapur: MoviePresented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment.
Leaked footage shows Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal back in action to shoot for Mirzapur: The Film; Anjum Sharma joins shooting in Banaras
The team has recently started shooting in Banaras, and Anjum Sharma has also joined the crew, fondly known to fans as Sharad Shukla – “The Last King of Mirzapur”. Announcing his return, the actor shared a glimpse from the set on social media and wrote, “All the friends and brothers who were asking when will you come…here we come…Banaras.”
After a brief appearance in season one, Anjum rose to prominence in subsequent seasons, and became one of the key players in the power dynamics of Purvanchal. His return to the franchise has raised curiosity among fans, especially following the fate of his character in the season three finale.
Meanwhile, leaked on-set footage from Ramnagar Fort and the streets of Varanasi has taken the internet by storm. The visuals show Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya and Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, reportedly filming one of the climactic scenes of the film. Seeing the two iconic rivals back in action has rekindled the excitement among fans who have been following their journey since 2018.
Produced by Punit Krishna and directed by Gurmeet Singh, Mirzapur: Movie Franchise favorites – Kaalin Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi), Guddu Pandit (Ali Fazal), and Munna Tripathi (Divyendu) will return along with Abhishek Banerjee. Following a nationwide theatrical release, the film will stream exclusively on Prime Video in India and over 240 countries and territories eight weeks after its release.
