The next chapter of the Khanna-Kapadia film legacy is about to begin. Naomika Saran, granddaughter of iconic actor Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, is all set to make her Bollywood debut with a romantic comedy produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films.

The film is expected to go on floors by mid-2026, starring Naomika alongside Vedang Raina, who was last seen in Alia Bhatt-produced Jigra (2024). According to a report in Mid-Day, the young budding actress has been preparing intensively for her debut film for the past one year, having conducted workshops in acting and dance to hone her craft before stepping into the limelight.
Naomika is the daughter of Rinke Khanna, who made her acting debut with Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhie (1998), and the niece of Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar. Although she belongs to one of the most famous families of Bollywood, Naomika has largely stayed away from the media glare until recently, when her frequent visits to the office of Maddock Films sparked speculations about her debut.
Interestingly, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda was initially involved in this project as the lead character. However, after discussions and scheduling conflicts, the role was recast with Vedang Raina. A source told Mid-Day, “Vedang and Naomika have great chemistry. When the team saw them together, it was instant. Vedang is currently shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s film and will be working on this project next.”
The romantic comedy will reportedly be directed by a newcomer from Maddock Films, in line with producer Dinesh Vijan’s ongoing strategy of mixing young talent with new-age storytelling.
Unlike the usual fanfare that accompanies star-kid debuts, Naomika’s team has chosen a deliberate and low-key approach. “Dinesh and his team were clear that they didn’t want to announce her debut until she was completely ready,” the source said.
