Kantara: Chapter 1 collects Rs. Earned Rs 3 to Rs 3.25 crore on its third Thursday, taking the third week’s earnings to Rs. 27 crore nett. The third Wednesday’s decline is around 30 per cent, while compared to last Thursday’s it is around 13-15 per cent, which means the film is registering a strong hold at the box office. This surge assumes significance as it comes at a time when the film has lost major exposure to Thamma and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. The total fee of Kantara: Chapter 1 reached Rs. By the end of its third week, it grossed ₹181 crore at the Hindi box office.

As per the current trends, Kantara: Chapter 1 is set to cross the double century mark and gross around Rs. 210 crore nett, unless there is some surprise drop in it in the coming days.

A section of the trade expected it to perform like other South Indian breakout sequels like Baahubali 2, KGF Chapter 2 and Pushpa 2. Although this did not happen, Kantara: Chapter 1 performed 2.5 times as well as the first film.
