Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra on OTT: Check out the official online release date of Kalyani Priyadarshan’s superhero film

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra releases on the big screens on August 28, 2025. After its tremendous theatrical success and critical acclaim, the Kalyani Priyadarshan-starrer is now expected to start streaming soon, just in time for Halloween this year.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra is set to premiere on the OTT platform JioHotstar and will start streaming from October 31, 2025. The official release date was announced by the platform on its social media handles.

Sharing the update, the post read, “Lokah Ki Duniya will debut exclusively on JioHotstar, streaming from October 31.”

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’s official trailer and plot

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra tells the story of its titular character, a mysterious woman who is summoned from Sweden to Karnataka by Muthon (the Elder), the leader of a secret organization.

In Bengaluru, Chandra lives a quiet and secluded life, keeping a low profile while working night shifts in a café. Opposite his apartment lives Sunny, a medical college dropout who shares a flat with his friends.

Influenced by her new neighbor, Sunny develops feelings for her, even though she avoids him. However, their lives take a dark turn when Chandra gets entangled in the sinister schemes of an organ trafficking gang, eventually revealing that she is, in fact, Kalliyankattu Neeli, a mythological creature from folklore.

How Neely, along with her new companions and other mythical creatures, overcomes threats to her life is the central plot of the story.

Lokah Chapter 1 Cast and Crew: Chandra

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra stars Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead role, along with Neslen, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, Chandu Salim Kumar, Raghunath Paleri, Vijayaraghavan, Jain Andrews, Shivajith Padmanabhan, Sarath Sabha, Nishant Sagar and many others in pivotal roles.

Actors Tovino Thomas, Dulquer Salmaan and Sunny Wayne appear in extended cameos, while Mammootty provides a voice-only cameo as Moothon. Additionally, several popular actors including Anna Ben, Soubin Shahir, Santhi Balachandran, Ahana Krishna, Balu Varghese and others make brief appearances.

Written and directed by Dominic Arun, the film was produced by Dulquer Salmaan under the banner of Wayfarer Films. The music was composed by Jacques Bejoy, with Nimish Ravi serving as the cinematographer and Chaman Chacko handling the editing.

The film serves as the first installment in a planned cinematic universe, which will be further explored in Lokah : Chapter 2, titled Loca: Chapter 2 by Tovino Thomas.
