Actor Faisal Malik, known for his performance as Prahlad Pandey in Panchayat, recently spoke exclusively with us about his struggles in finding work and shared updates about the fifth season of the show.
Exclusive: Faisal Malik on difficulties in finding work and Panchayat Season 5
In conversation with us, Faisal Malik was asked how he started working in small budget films and later moved to bigger projects and what would be his next choice.
In response, the actor said, “I have never had this kind of budget thinking. In acting, where I am now, there is no choice in me. If someone chooses, I can ask there. Abhi mere jeevan mein ye duniya nahi aayi ke main chooj karu kya karna hai.”
(I have never thought about budget and such things. In acting, at the level I am at now, I don’t get to choose; someone else chooses for me, and only then I get there. I am not in a position right now where I can choose what I want to do.)
Continuing his words, “The script should be right. Because the most important thing for my character is the story. Even if it is just one scene. A lot of work is like this for me. Now they will come, they are also like this, I do one or two scenes. If I like it, I do it.”
(The script should be good. For me, the story is more important than the character – even if it’s just one scene. I’ve done a lot of work like this. Even the upcoming ones are like that, just one or two scenes. If I really like it, I do it.)
He further said, “This is a big film, it takes the artiste to the masses. It takes time for us. They see you, understand you, and because of you, people who make them feel that they are doing something. Even then I choose, someone else does it.”
(Big films take an artist to the masses, but it takes time. People see you, understand you and then people making projects feel you can bring something valuable. So still, it’s not me choosing, they choose me.)
Later, Faisal was asked about the upcoming fifth season of Panchayat, where he revealed that the shooting will begin soon. The actor shared, “Right now the shooting will happen. Understand only after the shooting, 1-1.5 years. Right now we are writing sitting in the room. Scientists give the script only after a year. The shooting will happen next year, but the release depends on Amazon Prime.”
(Shooting is still on. Once it’s completed, it will take about one to one and a half years. They are currently writing the script behind closed doors. It takes a year for the scientist to come up with a script. Filming will happen next year, but the release depends on Amazon Prime.)
