Kartik Aryan has a good lineup of films in 2025-26. The actor, last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, is all set to play the role of a shape-shifting serpent in Dharma Productions and Mahavir Jain’s upcoming comedy-drama, Nagzilla: Nag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand. IHNS has exclusively learned that Kartik has completed the poster shoot of the film today and the shooting is scheduled to begin from November 1.
Officially announced in April 2025, the film is scheduled to release on screens on August 14, 2026, coinciding with the Independence Day weekend and Nag Panchami. As per the announcement glimpse, Kartik Aryan will be seen playing the character of Ichchhadhari Naag, Priyamvdeswar Pyare Chand in the film. And now, we have learned an exciting update on this.
Kartik Aryan today got a photoshoot done in a studio in Mumbai, marking the beginning of his creature-comedy. A source close to the development said that Nagzilla is going to start from November 1. The Sonu Ke Titu Ke Sweety actor is extremely excited to adopt a never-before-seen avatar for Nagzilla.
The film will be directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, who previously entertained the audience with his witty humor and directorial skills in the Fukrey franchise. Nagjila will be Lamba’s first film in the Fukrey franchise as a director. Interestingly, Kartik Aryan’s film also has franchise potential, depending on the reception of the first film.
Mahavir Jain and Karan Johar are bankrolling Nagzilla under their respective home productions, Mahavir Jain Films and Dharma Productions. Nagzilla will mark their first collaboration, which is expected to continue for several films. While the casting details of Nagzilla have been kept under wraps, reports suggest that Ravi Kishan has joined the cast. We are still waiting for official confirmation on this.
Nagzilla will be Kartik Aryan’s second film with Karan Johar after Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. They previously collaborated on Dostana 2; However, things did not work out.
On the work front, Kartik Aryan’s next release is ‘Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’, co-starring Ananya Panday. The actor also has a musical romantic drama Sreeleela in the pipeline with Anurag Basu, which is currently in production. Additionally, he is teaming up with Chak De India director Shimit Amin and Shershaah director Vishnuvardhan for two exciting projects.
