Mass Jathara is an action-comedy film written and directed by Bhanu Bogavarapu in his directorial debut. The story revolves around Laxman Bheri, an officer of the Railway Police Force, who refuses to tolerate any type of crime around him, regardless of jurisdiction.
After relocating to Adavipuram, he learns that a particular type of cannabis is being smuggled on a large scale in the area. The smuggling operation is led by Shivudu, a hardened criminal with deep connections within the police department and the government, ensuring his safety.
When Laxman starts taking action against him, the entire police and forest department attempt to stop him.
Meanwhile, the film also explores Laxman’s personal life. He struggles to find a partner as his grandfather constantly ruins his chances. Fearing that Adavipuram may become unsafe, the officer sends his grandfather to an old age home. Soon after, she meets a school teacher and falls in love with him, later discovering that he is also involved in ganja smuggling.
The further story is how Laxman ends the drug problem and ends crime in his jurisdiction.
