The company confirmed this by revealing that Alpha’s VFX needed more time to present Alpha to the audience at its best! Alpha pairs Alia Bhatt with Sharvari in this relentless action thriller, which also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles. Alia and Sharvari will face off against Bobby in this brutal showdown from the YRF Spy Universe.
Yash Raj Films changes Alpha release date to April 17, 2026; VFX needs more time
YRF spokesperson gave this information IHNS“Alpha is a very special film for us and we wanted to present the film in its most cinematic form. We realized that VFX would take a little longer than we initially thought. We wanted to leave no stone unturned in making Alpha a theatrical experience for everyone. Thus, we will now release the film on April 17, 2026.”
Alpha presents Alia in a completely new action avatar and marks her first film with Yash Raj Films. Alpha also welcomes Alia to the YRF spy universe, graced by our country’s biggest superstars. This is also India’s first female-centric action film, in which Alia and Sharvari are going to do something together, which the audience has never seen a girl do on screen before.
Our trade source says, “This discussion had been going on for some time as the teams were racing to finish the film, but the timelines seemed unrealistic. So, the decision to push it forward is logical. Alpha is a very important film, and the team wants to work on it to deliver the best film possible. It is a fair decision and the current chaotic release window from Avatar till the end of January has no bearing on this decision.”
