At the beginning of the year, Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani announced their reunion for the third time on the yet-untitled Dadasaheb Phalke biopic. The announcement sparked a huge buzz as the veterans announced their reunion after cult hits like 3 Idiots and PK, but in a shocking turn of events, Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani have decided to put the Dadasaheb Phalke biopic on hold.

Reliable sources confirmed to IHNS, “Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani stand for perfection, and they were not happy with the script of the Dadasaheb Phalke biopic. Aamir felt that the script was too dry for audiences in today’s world, and it did not have the humor that one expects from their collaboration. After repeated rewrite sessions, the duo have collectively decided to shelve the project. They believe that an iconic personality like Dadasaheb Phalke would be too good for such a script. Deserves to be both emotionally stirring and universally appealing. Until they reach that benchmark, they’re in no rush to make the film.”
Meanwhile, Aamir is reading many other scripts and trying to lock his next project. “Rajkumar Hirani has also started the process of identifying his next subject, and will soon get into the writing process. While Phalke has been put on hold, Raju Hirani and Aamir Khan will definitely reunite on something else.”
Aamir is expected to announce his next move in the first quarter of 2026 and he is currently in the process of reading at least 20 scripts. “He will choose one from the 20 shortlisted scripts.”
