Imagine watching Shah Rukh Khan stretch his arms, Vikrant Massey’s inspirational journey, and a friend’s pulse-racing rescue inside a fully equipped inflatable theatre? In a special collaboration, National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) have partnered with mobile digital theater pioneer Picturetime Digiplex to install a state-of-the-art inflatable cinema at the upcoming 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

Known for bringing state-of-the-art inflatable cinemas across the country and especially to underprivileged areas, PictureTime will be installing a state-of-the-art theater at the prestigious Academy of Arts campus – one of the main event centers of the festival. The 2025 edition of IFFI will begin on November 20 and end on November 28.

The inflatable theater will showcase a vibrant mix of titles across four categories: Inspirational Films, Indian Panorama Classics, Nostalgia and Children’s Cinema.

For the first time, three Shahrukh Khan classics – Go win! India, Fear, And The one who has heart will take the bride away. Will be displayed in inflatable cinemas. Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s acclaimed artiste has also joined him 12th failed, malayalam blockbuster Manjummel Boys, Rajkumar Rao’s SrikanthRani Mukherjee’s Smt Chatterjee vs Norway, Suraj Barjatya’s heightMira Nair’s Salaam Bombay! Irrfan Khan celebrated story, and classics like Satyajit Ray chess players, Vijay Anand’s third floorYash Chopra’s Moonlight And black Stone, among others.

There will also be special film screenings for school children every day, featuring titles Kafal: Wild Berries (Hindi), Gattu (Hindi), Banarasi Detective (Hindi), the prince and the stone crown (English) and cord 2 (Marathi), among others.

Apart from the main venue, Picturetime will also launch open-air screenings at multiple sites in North and South Goa, helping local residents access the films of the festival.

Sushil Choudhary, Founder and CEO, Picturetime Digiplex, said that it is an honor for Picturetime to collaborate with NFDC and ESG for IFFI. His association with the event began in 2017 when the team organized the Bioscope Village.

Our goal has always been to democratize cinema, bringing high-quality film experiences to audiences who may never have had access to such venues, and IFFI gives us a powerful platform to execute that mission.

The Academy of Arts’ inflatable theater is expected to welcome more than 1,000 visitors per day, ranging from global delegates and film professionals to school groups and cinephiles. The open-air screenings across Goa are expected to attract an additional 300-400 visitors per venue per day.
