The inheritance dispute within the Kapoor family has escalated sharply after Mandhira Kapoor launched a scathing attack on her late brother Sanjay Kapoor’s widow Priya Sachdev Kapoor. Speaking on the podcast Incontroversial with Pooja Choudhary, Mandhira called the current situation “big theft. Big fraud. Pure robbery”, as she questioned the validity of the will presented before the Delhi High Court.

Mandhira claimed that Priya demanded confidentiality at every stage of the process. “You wanted an NDA. You wanted a will in a sealed envelope. And now you don’t want forensics. What are you hiding? How many games are we going to play?” He alleged that an attempt was made to hide important information from the family.
She further stated that she intended to fight the case to the fullest: “As far as I’m concerned, I’m going to fight it to the end. Who is she to not pay tuition fees, friend? It’s not her money that she’s claimed it’s on. This is pure robbery. That’s what you call grand theft. That’s what you call grand fraud. And this country needs to wake up and see that.”
According to Mandhira, soon after Sanjay’s death his mother, Rani Kapoor, was asked to sign documents “behind closed doors”. “My mother didn’t know what she signed. She was overwhelmed, sad and vulnerable. This family has had everything taken away from us.”
Mandhira argued that the family’s role in building Kapoor’s legacy was being ignored. “There’s a family where there were five of us who made it together with dad. You can’t separate us from that.”
Accused of instigating bloodshed
One of Mandhira’s strongest objections is to the way the will identifies Sanjay’s children. “The will mentions Safira as the daughter. Samaira is the daughter – not Safira. Safira is the step-daughter. Her biological father (Vikram Chatwal) is alive,” he said.
Priya and her two children – Safira and Azarius – have reportedly been named in the will, while Sanjay’s biological children, Samaira and Kiyan, have been left out. “Nobody is denying that my brother cared about Sapphira,” Mandhira said. “But don’t take charge when Adhara is there. Don’t call Safira ‘daughter’.” She is the step daughter. Stop rewriting Vansh.”
His concerns echo the arguments raised before the Delhi High Court by senior lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani, who questioned the inconsistencies and “digitally suspicious” nature of the will.
Digital metadata in the spotlight
Jethmalani earlier told the court that the document was not generated from Sanjay’s devices. Instead, the metadata indicates that it was created on the computer of Sona BLW employee Nitin Sharma, who had no personal connection to the Kapoor family.
“Who prepared this will?” he asked, highlighting that it was created and modified on March 17 – when Sanjay was in Goa with his son Kiyan.
Mandhira echoed this concern: “You’re on vacation with your child – and at the same time disinheriting him? Stop insulting our intelligence.”
The digital trail shows that the file was scanned and converted to PDF at 10:06 am on March 24, shortly before a WhatsApp group called Family Office IC was created, which included Priya, Sharma and associate Dinesh Aggarwal. A senior associate of the family described the sequence as “the theater of grief, not its truth”.
A deeper pattern, the family says
Mandhira recalled an old incident involving her father: “One day there was a fight in my house with my father and my brother, about which my father had clearly told him in Delhi. But he told him, I will never look at him. I never want to see him around me. He is not welcome in my house. Today you have taken over that house.”
He said the will is part of a broader change in control. After Sanjay’s demise, Kapoor’s name was removed from the Sona BLW promoter group within a quarter. He said, “My brother led the legacy. He didn’t create the wealth – my father did.”
Mandhira also claimed that Sanjay himself never thought that Priya would control any part of the Sona group. He referred to Priya’s removal from the AIPL board in May 2023 and her subsequent return in 2025. “When you hear the whispers going around, you’ll understand what’s going on… I mean, the whispers are very clear that there were problems in the marriage.”
He said, “Priya should be ashamed of representing our family. This is our property. Our legacy.”
She also said that her mother can no longer enter their Rajokri house, even though it has been rebuilt brick by brick. “My mother was sitting under a tree and supervising the workers. Today, she cannot even enter her house.”
Criticism from colleagues and separation from family
Mandhira criticized longtime collaborators Dinesh Agarwal and Nitin Sharma: “They are Chhoti Priya’s puppets,” she said. “I grew up around him. He worked for my father. Where is his loyalty? Shame on him.”
He said that both of them have stopped all contact with the family. “This family is cut off from everything. It’s intentional. It’s strategic.”

And now everything that is rightfully theirs is being taken away from them.” She also accused Priya of withholding basic expenses: “Who is she who doesn’t pay school fees? This is not her money. This is big theft. Big fraud.”

Despite the ongoing conflict, Mandhira said there is a path to a solution. “If my mother showed my sister and our lawyers everything my mother signed after 2017, they would have a seat at the table.” Until then, she insists: “I will not let him take away my father’s legacy. I will fight to the end.”
