At the recently concluded 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Sirish of Sri Venkateswara Creations confirmed that the film is indeed being made.
Producer Sri Venkateshwara Creations has confirmed the remake of Sankranti Vasthanam with Akshay Kumar, Vamshi Paidipally’s film with Salman Khan.
During a conversation with Gulte at IFFI, Sirish revealed that sankrantiki vasthunam A remake is being made and it will star Akshay Kumar. The original version was directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Dil Raju and Sirish. He also revealed that there will be at least six releases from Sri Venkateswara Creations in 2026.
and that’s not all. Sirish also revealed that he is planning to make a film with superstar Salman Khan and it will be directed by Vamshi Paidipally, who is known for directing popular films. Baby (2007), Brindavanam (2010), yevadu (2014), upper (2016), Maharishi (2019) and heir (2023).
Finally, Sirish also confirmed that his prestigious production house will produce a film starring superstar Pawan Kalyan.

However, the original had a much more Telugu flavour. To make the film entertaining for Hindi audiences, Anees Bazmee is reimagining the film while keeping the main plot intact.
The article also claims that the writing work is going on in full swing, and the makers are aiming to take the untitled film on the floors in February 2026. The film is not a remake, but a new take on the original film, as the screenplay will be packed with new scenes. “It is 60 percent fresh sequence, and only 40 percent original to retain the essence of the plot.”
