Box Office: Thalapathy Vijay’s last film Jan Neta plans proper multiplex release in Hindi unlike Leo and The Goat

Thalapathy Vijay officially announced his retirement from cinema at a recent event. His last film Jan Nayakan is being released in Hindi dubbed audio with the name Jan Neta. The political action drama, directed by H Vinoth, will have a grand release on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal/Sankranti festival. Unlike earlier Thalapathy Vijay films, Jan Neta will have a well-structured release in the North India belt.

Reportedly, Jan Neta will have a proper release across all multiplex chains in the Hindi markets. Zee Studios has got the distribution rights for North India. In the recent poster shared by the officials, Jan Neta has been announced to release in PVR Inox, Cinepolis, Mirage Cinemas, Rajhans Multiplex, Mukta Cinemas, Movietime Cinemas, Wave Cinemas and others.

Earlier Leo and The Greatest of All Time was released in Hindi but only on single screen. These films did not follow the 8-week OTT window clause, which is why they were refused release in multiplex chains in the Hindi circuit. This move affected their box office potential in Hindi markets by about 20 to 30 percent. For the record, Leo netted Rs. 30 crores while The GOAT made around Rs. 20 crore nett in hindi. If these films were also released in multiple series, they would have easily earned around Rs. If not more then Rs 40-50 crore.

Nevertheless, Jan Neta will ensure a grand performance in the North Indian markets, which is a positive sign considering the trade perspective. Now it has the potential to top the lifetime collections of The Goat and Leo in Hindi and set a new high. According to IHNS Predictions, Jan Neta will open at Rs. 1.5 Crore to Rs. 3 crore, depending on its current discussion in the northern belt. Let’s wait for the trailer to drop to see if the opening range increases or not.
