Sunny Leone’s proposed visit to the holy city of Mathura has been canceled following strong protests from religious organizations over the planned New Year event. The actress was reportedly to attend a private New Year event at a hotel in Mathura. The program was canceled after protests.
“I find it very strange that 16 years later we are still facing this,” Daniel Weber said after wife Sunny Leone’s event in Mathura was canceled following the protests.
Responding on behalf of his wife, Sunny Leone’s husband Daniel Weber said, “First of all, it is not a New Year show. Their New Year show is in Hyderabad. Everyone knows. And it is promoted everywhere. They have a show almost every day for the last five, six days, seven days.”
Daniel feels that the couple has been unnecessarily forced to prove their allegiance to India. “Sunny and I have been in India for sixteen years. It’s been a very good part of our lives. I believe we have been good citizens. We have done a lot of good things out of the goodness of our hearts because we want to give back to the country that has given us so much. So, I find it amazing that there is still a group, no matter what group it is, that is opposed to the idea of Sunny coming anywhere.”
Daniel feels that Sunny’s presence in any city brings positivity. “When she visits a city, it brings revenue, brings business, brings people’s attention, and it brings, you know, it’s not bringing anything bad. It’s bringing entertainment. And I believe we should celebrate that. And I find it very strange that 16 years later, we’re still facing something like this. We haven’t faced something like this in a long time. So I’m very surprised.”
Daniel hopes that someday he will be invited to Mathura. “I hope they call us back one day and realize it was a wrong decision. I’m sure it’s a wrong decision. But we’ll respect it and let them do what they want to do. And we’ll go somewhere else and have wonderful entertainment somewhere else and have fun and provide wonderful entertainment for another city and another place. And they’ll enjoy it. And we’ll all have a great year. God bless everybody.”
