Her last Bollywood assignment was with Shonali Bose the sky is pink In 2019, after which he was finalized for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. But at the last moment this role slipped from Priyanka’s fingers and went to Alia Bhatt.
This is where SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu stepped in.
A source revealed what happened next: “Unlike the A-listers in Bollywood, Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu had no problem working with Priyanka. They treated her like cinema royalty, offered her money that was far more than she got in the West, far more than she got for any Hindi film, and expanded her role when she stepped in.”
A source close to the project said that Priyanka has become very close to Mahesh Babu, his wife Namrata and their daughter Sitara.
“This is Priyanka’s entry into Bollywood through Telugu cinema. She has chosen to represent Indian cinema on the global stage through Rajamouli’s cinematic universe,” said a hotshot Bollywood filmmaker, who confessed that when he wanted to make a female action-hero film with Priyanka Chopra, he was “briefed” for not signing on.
