Naga Chaitanya’s popular horror mystery thriller Dhootha, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2023, may be gearing up for a comeback. If recent reports are to be believed, the gripping series is likely to return with Season 2, much to the excitement of fans.
According to buzz in online media, the makers of Dhootha have completed the screenplay for the second season. A report by 123 Telugu suggests that pre-production work is currently underway in Hyderabad, indicating that the project is slowly moving forward.
Insiders reveal that Season 2 will delve deeper into the dark and mysterious world introduced in the first installment, with the narrative expected to be more layered, intense, and complex. Riding high on the success of Season 1, the makers are reportedly planning to raise the stakes with stronger twists and a more intricate storyline.
Although an official announcement is yet to be made, sources indicate that Dhootha Season 2 could go on floors in the second half of 2026, with Naga Chaitanya set to reprise his lead role.

Directed and produced by Vikram Kumar, Dhootha is a horror mystery thriller that follows Sagar, a morally conflicted yet successful journalist. His life takes a chilling turn when he begins receiving newspaper clippings that eerily predict tragic and supernatural events involving people close to him.
As the story unfolds, Sagar becomes a suspect himself and is forced to investigate the source of these terrifying prophecies, all while confronting secrets from his own past.
The series features a strong ensemble cast including Parvathy Thiruvothu, Prachi Desai, Srikanth Murali, Anish Kuruvilla, Tharun Bhaskar, Rohini, Tanikella Bharani, and Priya Bhavani Shankar, among others.
