Tamil superstar Suriya is currently one of the busiest actors in the industry and shows no signs of slowing down. While he is gearing up for the release of his upcoming fantasy action entertainer Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji, fresh reports suggest that the actor is already lining up his future projects.
Is Suriya in Talks With Director Parasuram?
According to industry buzz and online reports, Suriya is in discussions with Geetha Govindam director Parasuram for a potential collaboration. The project is said to be a full-fledged commercial mass entertainer, and reports claim that the actor has responded positively to the film’s initial narration.
Earlier, speculation suggested that Suriya would collaborate with directors Nahas Hidayath or Pandiraj after Suriya47. Parasuram’s name has now reportedly entered the mix, though no official confirmation has been made by either the actor or the filmmaker so far.
Suriya’s Recent and Upcoming Projects
Suriya was last seen in Retro, directed by Karthik Subbaraj. The romantic action drama followed the story of Pari, a hitman who attempts to leave behind a life of violence for love, only to be pulled back into conflict by circumstances beyond his control. The film also starred Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Jayaram, and others in key roles.
Up next, the actor will headline Karuppu, a fantasy action film directed by RJ Balaji. The film reportedly revolves around a lawyer who becomes possessed by a deity and fights against social injustice. Trisha Krishnan plays the female lead, and the film is expected to hit theatres by summer this year.
Suriya is also working on Suriya46, a family drama featuring Raveena Tandon and Mamitha Baiju in pivotal roles.
In addition, the actor has Suriya47 in the pipeline, a police action-comedy directed by Aavesham fame Jeethu Madhavan. The film is said to follow the adventures of an eccentric cop and stars Nazriya Nazim Fahadh in the co-lead role, with Neslen playing an important character. Music for the film will be composed by Sushin Shyam, marking his Tamil cinema debut.
