Radhika Sarathkumar recalls her memories of working with Kamal Haasan
While speaking with Galata Plus, Radhika Sarathkumar talked about working with Kamal Haasan and how she felt insecure about her skin color at that time. The actress revealed that she was supposed to hug Haasan from behind, but the scene felt awkward during filming, making it look somewhat awkward on screen.
Radika said, “Director Vishwanath asked, ‘Don’t you two like each other?’ I said, ‘No sir, nothing,’ and Kamal was also surprised. However, the director sensed some uneasiness between us.
The actress further added, “After this everyone on the set was shocked. Suddenly his eyes fell on Kamal, he took a bottle of perfume and sprayed it on himself. The team assumed it was about fragrance or cleanliness. It was not.”
Radhika then revealed that the issue arose from her own insecurities about her complexion. She said, “I told Kamal Haasan that you are very fair and my hands are two shades darker than my face. When he hugged me I thought it looked very bad.”
She said Kamal immediately dismissed her concern and laughed it off, saying it should never have been an issue. The actress also revealed that Haasan still teases her about her addiction at that time.

Radhika Sarathkumar will next be seen in the lead role in Thai Kizhavi. Directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, the comedy film is co-produced by Sivakarthikeyan under the banner of Sivakarthikeyan Productions.
Apart from Radhika, the film stars Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, George Maryan and others in lead roles. This film will be released in theaters on 20 February 2026.
On the other hand, Kamal Haasan will be seen in the lead role for the upcoming film, which is tentatively titled KH237. After this, he will also share the screen with Rajinikanth in their reunion film.
