Bambukat 2 had its opening weekend at Rs. Completed with. Around 8.50 crores worldwide. The domestic and overseas distribution of the film was Rs. 2.40 crore (Rs. 2 crore net) and Rs. ₹ 6.10 crore (USD 675K) respectively. Compared to other recent Amy Virk films, the opening weekend is lower than that of Saunkne Saunkne 2 (Rs 15 crore) and Sarbala (Rs 11.25 crore).
Performances abroad range from very good to very good. The good thing is Canada, which was at par with Sarbala and Saunkane was better than Saunkane 2. If Canada had not performed well, it would have lost completely, but now Canada has given it some numbers.
The main disappointment was in India, where the film did not perform well. The original Bambukat was a blockbuster in 2016, releasing to bumper numbers and then trending brilliantly. Considering how well comedy sequels perform, one might expect this one to perform three times as well. The weekend trend is also quite average, Sunday did not increase as much as it could have.
The box office collection of Bambukat 2 in India is as follows:
| Day | Total |
|---|---|
| Friday | Rupee. 0.55 crores. |
| Saturday | Rupee. 0.80 crore. |
| sunday | Rupee. 1.05 crore. |
| Total | Rupee. 2.40 crores. |
The Punjabi film box office in India has fallen from its peak in the 2010s, when the business was growing and peaked towards the end of the decade. Apart from the quality of films, one of the major driving factors is demographic change. The sustained wave of migration in the late 2010s and early 2020s has reshaped the core audience base. A large portion of the business has shifted from India to overseas markets such as Canada and Australia. It is now common for collections abroad to be several times larger than those in India. In contrast, before Covid, the business used to be more domestic-heavy, with hardly any film earning more overseas than in India.
