The British Academy of Film and Television Arts recognized and honored some of the biggest cinematic releases of 2025 at a ceremony held at the Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Center in London on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Hosted by Alan Cumming, the 79th British Academy Film Awards was a star-studded affair.
Among the night’s winners, Paul Thomas Anderson’s Leonardo DiCaprio-led One Battle After Another earned the most with an impressive 6 grabs. Michael B. Jordan Sinners followed with his 3. Robert Aramayo, who led I Swear, was the most welcome surprise, winning the coveted Best Leading Actor award among some contenders.
However, the biggest blow came to Marty Supreme, who was not awarded a trophy despite being in the running for 11. The Josh Safdie sports drama rivals the 1969 film Women in Love and 2004’s Finding Neverland. The latter two films won an Oscar each, meaning all hope is not lost for the Timothée Chalamet starrer, which picked up big wins at the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Golden Globes.
