DSP resigns over Ustad Bhagat Singh’s background score; Thaman comes on board

The makers of Ustad Bhagat Singh have officially clarified the recent speculations regarding changes in the music team of the film. While Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) was initially signed to compose both the songs and background score, he will now be associated only with the film’s soundtrack album.

According to a statement released by Mythri Movie Makers, the change is due to scheduling constraints. The production reportedly faced delays in finalizing and shipping the film reels needed to prepare the background score. As a result, the timeline could not be aligned with the DSP’s prior commitments, making it difficult for them to complete the background work despite efforts from both parties. However, DSP’s contribution to the film remains intact through the previously released tracks ‘Dekhlenge Saala’ and ‘Aura of Ustad’, both of which have generated significant traction among fans.

The production house confirmed that the decision was taken with mutual consent and without any creative differences. Now composer Thaman S has been roped in to handle the background score of the film. In their statement, the makers said that while DSP’s songs will drive the album, Thaman will oversee the background music, ensuring that the project remains on schedule.

The film, directed by Pawan Kalyan, is one of the most awaited Telugu releases of the year. With its worldwide release now scheduled for March 19, 2026, the team appears to be focused on maintaining momentum while streamlining post-production work.
