Rapper Badshah has issued a public apology after facing criticism over the lyrics of his recently released track. ‘Tatiri’. The controversy emerged when several women’s organizations objected to certain parts of the song and alleged that the lyrics were derogatory and insulting to women.

On March 7, the rapper took to Instagram to share an apology video addressing the concerns. In the caption accompanying the video, he also informed that the track is being removed from the digital platform. He wrote, “The song is being removed from everywhere.”
In the video, Badshah clarified his intentions behind the song and expressed regret for the offense it caused. He said, “My new song ‘Tatiri’ has been released, and I have observed that a portion of my song and its visual representation has given a message that has hurt the sentiments of many people, especially the people of Haryana. First of all I want to say that I myself am from Haryana. People who know me know that my language, my food, my lifestyle and my identity are from Haryana. I am proud to be a Haryanvi. I never had any intention or intention to say anything inappropriate about any child or woman of Haryana.
Explaining the context of the song, the rapper said that the lines were written to suit the competitive nature of hip-hop music. He said, “I come from the hip-hop genre, where the lyrics are often meant to demean rivals. They are directed at rivals. This was never meant for any woman or child, and I would never do that. I always try to carry the culture of Haryana with me wherever I go. If anyone has been hurt, I apologize wholeheartedly. I hope you will forgive me as Haryana’s son – your son.” Will do.”
The controversy intensified after several women’s organizations objected to the song’s lyrics and their visual representation. Some groups alleged that some lines were indecent and disrespectful towards women. Reports also suggested that references in the track were seen as misrepresenting educational institutions.
According to ANI report, an FIR was registered on March 6 at the Cyber ​​Police Station in Sector-20, Panchkula. The complaint was filed under section 296 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) as well as sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
Amid the ongoing controversy, Badshah’s apology and decision to remove the song from the platforms appears to be an attempt to address the concerns raised by various groups and defuse the situation.
