It appears that 2026 may bring another collaboration between Sidharth Malhotra and filmmaker-producer Karan Johar. According to a report in Mid-Day, the actor is currently in advanced discussions to headline a new project backed by Dharma Productions.

The film is expected to be an emotionally driven drama that explores complex interpersonal relationships. The project will reportedly be directed by Sharan Sharma, who previously directed Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl And Mr and Mrs Mahi.
If the project goes ahead, it will mark another collaboration between Malhotra and Johar, who share a long professional association. The actor made his Bollywood debut with Johar’s film student of the year in 2012 and since then he has worked with the banner on several occasions including the action drama 2024 Warrior.
A source quoted in the report revealed that the production house is keen to collaborate with Malhotra again and believes that the subject matches well with the actor’s on-screen persona. The source said, “The studio is keen to collaborate with Sidharth again and feels the subject suits his personality. When the idea was shared with him last year he loved it. He had given verbal approval at that time and wanted to read the script before formally committing. Now, it is in the final stages of talks.”
The report further suggests that if the discussions conclude successfully, the film could go on floors by summer 2026. The primary schedule is expected to take place in Mumbai.
