After the ceremony, Rashmika shared a touching moment as she walked up to hug her mother-in-law, Deverakonda Madhavi, who was seen getting emotional and shedding tears of joy.
Rashmika Opens Up About Her Journey
As reported by Hindustan Times, Rashmika became teary-eyed while accepting the award for her role as Bhoomi Devi. Speaking about her transformation from being criticized to being celebrated, she said:
“There was a time when I was trolled for my performance. Today, I’ve received an award from the state for my work. It makes me feel that I have truly come a long way. This award is very special, especially for a film like The Girlfriend, which gives us the confidence to create more meaningful cinema.”
First Award After Marriage
Rashmika also shared that this moment was even more special as it marked her first award after marrying Vijay Deverakonda. She revealed that she had completed her Ugadi puja before attending the ceremony.
“This is my first festival as a married woman. I completed my Ugadi puja before coming here, and it feels truly beautiful and fulfilling.”
She further expressed her gratitude towards her family for their constant love and support, saying she feels proud and blessed to be treated like a daughter.
In a sweet and emotional moment, she addressed her mother-in-law from the stage, who was cheering for her:
“Paplu, I did it. Now let’s go home and celebrate.”
