Malayalam film Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Brothers has taken a stellar start at the box office. The film created a storm with an opening of Rs 10 crore. 5.20 crores at Kerala box office. This makes it the biggest Malayalam film opener for debutants. Reason 2 broke the 8-year-old record of Aadhi (2018), whose opening record was Rs. The role of a debutant cost Rs 2.17 crore.
The film saw excellent occupancy throughout the day, with most of its shows in Kerala being housefull. Compared to the 2026 releases, Reason 2 recorded the second highest opening in its homeland. The film overtook the opening day collections of Chhath Pacha, Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Malayalam), and Valathu Vasathe Kallan at the Kerala box office. It lagged behind Jayasurya’s Aadu 3.
This madness has been recorded not only within its domestic territory but also outside its borders, including abroad. Estimates suggest that Reason 2 has registered a double digit opening worldwide, which is a historic record for a lead actor/cast for the first time.

After the success of Reason: Biopic of one billion boysProducer and writer Vipin Das returned with a sequel titled ‘Waza 2: Biopic of a Billion Brothers’. Directed by Savin Sa, the film stars Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy and Vinayak in lead roles. It is composed by the band Malayali Monkeys with Rajat Prakash (Hatsmith), Parvathish Pradeep, Razi, Muthu, Arkado, Jazeer Muhammad, Ashwin Aryan and Electronic Killy, while A Team handled the background score. Music directed by Ankit Menon. Akhil Lailasuran took charge of the cinematography and Kannan Mohan served as the editor.
