Justice Arif Doctor passed this order on Wednesday after hearing the arguments from Dhar. The court said that, at this stage, Dhar had presented sufficient grounds for seeking protection, and directed Kumar to refrain from repeating or issuing any statement against the filmmaker or his film until the case is heard again. The next hearing of the case has now been fixed for April 16.

Controversy began shortly after the release of extreme revengeStarring Ranveer Singh. Santosh Kumar held a press conference alleging that the story of the film was copied from his own script, which he claimed to have registered with the Screenwriters Association in 2023. According to him, the script, titled D sirIt was pitched to several production houses before Dhar reportedly used it for his film.

Responding to these claims, Dhar approached the court and said that the allegations were baseless and had damaged his professional reputation. His legal team argued that the statements made during the press conference were widely circulated online through multiple videos and social media posts, increasing their impact.

The court was informed that Dhar had already sent a legal notice to Kumar, asking him to stop making what he described as unverified allegations. However, Kumar neither responded to the notice nor appeared before the court during the hearing.

During the proceedings, Dhar’s side said that if Kumar feels that his work has been copied, he is free to take appropriate legal action. However, he stressed that making public allegations without evidence is unfair and harmful.

Taking note of the situation, the court directed Kumar to refrain from making any comments related to the film or Dhar until the issue is investigated in detail.
