Yash Chopra Foundation (YCF), the philanthropic arm of Yash Raj Films, has announced the second edition of its YCF Scholarship Programme, which aims to support the higher education aspirations of children from Hindi film industry families.
Yash Chopra Foundation launches YCF Scholarship 2026, offering up to Rs. Rs 5 lakh for children of Hindi film industry workers
This initiative launched for the academic year 2026-27 will provide financial assistance up to Rs. 5 lakh per student. This scholarship is open to registered Hindi film industry workers and children of YCF fellow members, many of whom are an integral part of the industry ecosystem. The selection process will be based on a combination of educational qualification and financial need.
This program covers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in recognized institutions in India. While it continues to support creative and industry-aligned subjects such as Film Studies, Media and Communication, Animation and Visual Effects, Cinematography, Direction and Visual Arts, this year’s edition has expanded its scope to include postgraduate studies in Engineering, Medical and Paramedical Sciences, Business and Management, Law and Information Technology.
Aimed at reducing financial barriers to higher education, the scholarship will cover tuition fees for eligible courses in NAAC-accredited, AICTE-approved, or government-recognized institutions.
Speaking about the initiative, Akshay Vidhani, CEO, YRF, said, “As we proudly launch the second year of the YCF Scholarship Program, we are thrilled to empower children from our Hindi film industry families to dream big and build sustainable futures through education. This year’s work reflects our deep commitment to help the 60% of families from the fraternity who are facing education funding challenges, as our The YCF Partner Survey aims to help secure a brighter tomorrow. We invite every eligible family to apply as soon as possible and allow us to secure a brighter future for their children.
Insights from the YCF Partner Survey reveal that more than 60% of film industry families face financial challenges in funding higher education. The scholarship initiative is designed to address this gap and enable long-term economic sustainability through access to quality education.
Selected candidates will undergo a structured, multi-stage assessment process including screening and personal interview. Financial assistance will be distributed directly to the respective institutions of the successful applicants. Eligible candidates may apply through the official channels of YCF by following the prescribed application procedure.
