Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan react to Jan Nayakan leak
Ahead of the theatrical release of Thalapathy Vijay’s last film, Jana Nayakan, the action was leaked on social media. The industry condemned the incident. In his tweet, Rajinikanth expressed “shock and pain”.
He further wrote, “The release of Jan Nayakan film by someone on the internet has caused shock and sadness. Film associations should raise their voice against this and the government should identify those responsible and give strict punishment. Such crimes should not be allowed to continue in future.”
She was joined by her KHxRK co-star Kamal Haasan, who thinks “it’s no accident.” The Nayakan actor wrote on his
Haasan further said that piracy is beyond politics. “This is an attack on the art and the artist itself. It jeopardizes the work of hundreds of artistes and technicians, and jeopardizes the investment of honest tax-paying producers, exhibitors and theater owners who sustain the cinema we love. Who protects the producer when the system fails? We need accountability, instant certification, strict enforcement and real-time takedowns. A few minutes ago, Vijay Deverakonda had also expressed his anger over the leak. In her post she wrote, “The #JanaNayagan leak makes me angry. I have personally experienced the feeling of pain and loss early in my career when something like this happens. You feel like a target, you feel the loss of hope, it’s not just about me, there are co-actors, directors, producers and a lot of people whose dreams are all on the line.”
The Ranbaali actor further added, “This ongoing issue needs to be resolved as soon as possible and the people behind it need to be identified, and if that doesn’t happen then it reflects systemic failure. It keeps reminding us how insensitive people can be, and how some can go to the extent of causing harm without even thinking. I send my thoughts and my unconditional support to the entire team of the film.”
Karthi, Surya Shivakumar, Chiranjeevi Konidela and other celebs also raised their voice against the incident. For those unaware, Jana Nayakan was scheduled to release in theaters on January 9, 2026. However, it was delayed due to certification issues. After the leak, fans are worried about the future of the film.
