A source told“Salman remains a mega star and he has moved on Homeland On a large scale. It is a film meant for the big screen and hence, he and director Apoorva Lakhia are committed to releasing the film theatrically once the issues related to the film are resolved.

An industry insider commented, “There is a common misconception among some people that there is no censorship on OTT. So, they think that if Salman Khan chooses to skip a theatrical release, he will be able to drop the film on OTT without any problem. However, it doesn’t work that way. Every film that releases directly on a streaming platform also goes through a certification process like any theatrical film. But as per the Defense Ministry’s request, Salman Khan and director Apoorva Lakhia re-shot the film by adding a fictional spin to the story. Accordingly, they re-shot about 40% of the film as they added some romantic scenes, backstory etc. The makers submitted the new cut, hoping that they will get the NOC. But the ministry is still apprehensive.”
