Thalapathy Vijay starrer Jana Nayagan has been awaiting release for a long time. While the film was initially expected to stream on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video, it now seems that the digital deal has been canceled due to delays, with another streaming platform coming forward at a lower price.
Jan Nayakan’s OTT rights snapped after release delay?
According to a report in Movies Singapore, Jana Nayagan was initially bought by the OTT platform for Rs 120 crore. However, due to the delay in the film’s release, the platform has reportedly canceled the deal.
Now, digital platform ZEE5 is reportedly offering Rs 50 crore for the rights, reducing the earlier price to more than half. However, no official confirmation has been made by the makers yet.
Recently, we in IHNS exclusively reported that Jana Nayagan will release on the big screens on May 8, 2026. The film was initially scheduled to release on January 9, 2026 as a Pongal release. However, it was delayed due to lack of certification from CBFC.

Jana Nayakan starring Thalapathy Vijay is seen as the last cinematic appearance of the superstar. Directed by H. He encourages him to join the army despite the fear of violence.
