Addressing the growing confusion, mental health organization AMAHA, in collaboration with Off the Rocks, released an official clarification regarding Kapoor’s role in the negotiations. The statement strongly denied claims that the actress had any personal history of drug addiction.

The statement read, “At Off the Rocks and Amaha, we have noticed that some media pages are misrepresenting this initiative and the content related to Janhvi Kapoor. This is extremely worrying. We want to clarify that Janhvi Kapoor is part of this conversation as a caregiver and ally, and not as someone who has any personal experience with addiction or alcohol dependence.”

It emphasized the impact of such misinformation, saying, “Such misrepresentation not only minimizes its role, but also undermines and insults the real, lived experiences of people struggling with addiction and those who support them. Let’s not trivialize efforts to fix a serious problem through misinformation for click bait.”

Calling for accountability, the organization concluded, “We strongly call on media outlets, digital platforms and individuals to report with honesty and ensure that conversations around addiction are handled with the sensitivity they deserve. Misinformation in this area is harmful, irresponsible, and disrespectful to the community this dialogue is meant to support. Thank you for standing with us.”

During the podcast, Kapoor talked about alcohol addiction in a broader context, while also reiterating that he has not personally struggled with it. She also detailed her involvement in initiatives that aim to tackle drug addiction, positioning herself as a caregiver and ally. However, selective editing of her comments fueled speculation, with some reports highlighting her statement on how she had turned to alcohol during the COVID-19 period, thus creating the need to issue an official clarification.

On the professional front, Kapoor is prepping for her upcoming film pediwhich marks the second Telugu journey after that brother-in-law. The film also stars Ram Charan and is scheduled to release on June 4, raising expectations about expanding his filmography.
