When the filmmaker’s last rites were performed in Chennai, superstar Rajinikanth became emotional while speaking about his plans to collaborate once again for the producer’s 100th film, a project that will now never be completed.

While talking to the media after attending the funeral, Rajinikanth cried while remembering the conversation with him. RB Chaudhary And revealed that the producer wanted to retire after completing his historic 100th film with the superstar in the lead role.

The superstar said that Chaudhary had told him that he had some stories in his mind and he wanted him to listen to them. “I told him I will do it 100 per cent. Two months ago, KS Ravikumar had told me that Choudhary sir had introduced many directors and all of them should give him a grand farewell. He is a great man who introduced many directors, saved the industry and provided work to many technicians,” he was quoted as saying by India Today.

For those unaware, RB Chaudhary of Super Good Films reportedly passed away after a car accident in Rajasthan. The sudden demise of the 79-year-old filmmaker caused a wave of mourning in the film industry. After his death, many actors including Thalapathy Vijay, Mammootty and others arrived to pay their last tribute.

Rajinikanth’s work front

Rajinikanth He is next set to appear in Jailer 2. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the action drama serves as the sequel to Jailer and will once again feature Mohanlal and Shiv Rajkumar in cameo roles. Actors including Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, SJ Surya and Suraj Venjaramoodu are also expected to be part of the cast. The film is reportedly targeted for release in mid-2026.

Looking to the future, the superstar was expected to collaborate with director Siby Chakraborty for the tentatively titled Thalaivar173. However, due to recent developments, the director may reportedly walk out of the project, with Dragon fame Ashwath Marimuthu likely to step in with a new story. Official confirmation regarding the development is still awaited.
