Mouni Roy and entrepreneur Sooraj Nambiar have once again found themselves at the center of public attention after recently announcing their separation. A week after officially confirming their separation through a joint Instagram statement, Sooraj has now addressed the growing speculations about the end of their marriage, strongly denying rumors about alimony, disputes and third party involvement.
Sooraj Nambiar denies rumors of his separation with Mouni Roy: “No alimony, no dispute, no third party involved”
Sooraj shared a lengthy statement on Instagram, calling several reports “baseless” and “malicious”. The note was later reposted by Mouni Roy on her social media account, indicating the former couple’s united stand amid the ongoing online conversation. In his statement, Sooraj wrote, “The recent baseless news about our separation is made in bad taste and is completely malicious. Let me set the record straight once and for all. There is no alimony. There is no dispute. There is no third party involved.”
They further clarified that the decision to part ways was mutual and was taken with maturity and respect for each other. “Mouni and I have decided to part ways together, with mutual respect and with full consideration for each other’s well-being. It’s true. Whatever is being reported is fictitious, and in some cases, a deliberate attempt to defame two people who have done nothing but ask to be left alone.”
Addressing the rumors involving friends and alleged third parties, Sooraj expressed strong objection to innocent persons being dragged into the case. He said, “I want to say this clearly and finally: There is no truth in any of the claims being made about any of us, or about any third party. It does no good to drag other people into this. Especially innocent friends who have nothing to do with this. Both Mouni and I have conducted ourselves with dignity during this period and we expect the same dignity to be extended to us by those reporting on this.”
Calling it irresponsible reporting, Sooraj said, “Media houses have started fabricating stories that do not exist. These reports have been published without any verification, which is highly unfair. I am saying this clearly and directly, because remaining silent in the face of deliberate misinformation is not something I am willing to do.” He ended the note by urging everyone to respect the joint statement previously shared by the couple. “Our joint statement says everything that needs to be said. I ask everyone to respect it and allow us both to move forward in peace. Thank you.”
Mouni Roy and Sooraj Nambiar got married in January 2022 in Goa in the presence of close friends and family members. Their wedding, which included both Malayali and Bengali traditions, had generated massive buzz on social media. Over the years, the couple frequently shared glimpses of their personal lives and vacations online, and became one of the most talked-about celebrity couples.
Three days ago, the former couple officially announced their separation via a joint Instagram note, requesting privacy and understanding from fans and the media as they navigated this personal change.
