Bollywood actress and politician Kangana Ranaut has finally broken her silence on the speculations going on on social media about her marital status. The rumors started spreading rapidly after a paparazzi video surfaced online, which showed the actress wearing a traditional pink salwar suit, mangalsutra, bindi and green bangles. These traditional symbols of a married Hindu woman immediately sent fans and social media platforms into a complete frenzy, with many assuming that she had secretly gotten married.

Addressing the chaos directly, Kangana took to her Instagram stories on May 22 to clarify the situation. She shared a post in which her viral look was accompanied by imaginary Hindi text asking if she got married secretly. Putting an end to all the speculations, the actress revealed that the outfit was nothing more than her character makeup for an ongoing film project.
Expressing happiness over the sudden surge of curiosity, Kangana shared a light-hearted note on her social media handle. She said: “I’m filming in and around the city every day, someone clicked this random picture with the character’s makeup on and now I’m getting a lot of phone calls 🔥, but what’s the big deal about a married woman’s looks? Actors play all kinds of roles, I won’t be secretly married, I promise 😁🙏.”
Although she successfully put an end to the marriage rumours, the actress did not clarify which specific project she was shooting at the time the video was captured.
On the professional front, Kangana was last seen emergency (2025). The film marks a major milestone in his career as his solo directorial debut, after his 2019 film Manikarnika: Queen of JhansiWhere he shared direction credits with Krish Jagarlamudi.
Looking ahead, the actor-politician is prepping for his next major theatrical release, titled india destiny maker. Releasing in theaters on June 12, the film is directed by Manoj Tapadia and is based on the tragic events of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, with the primary story taking place inside a hospital.
